Free gospel choir concert at Chevalier Theatre Feb. 27
In honor of Black History Month, the Community Gospel Choir will be performing a free gospel concert, "We've Come This Far By Faith," at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 27th, at the Chevalier Theatre. The Community Gospel Choir is a volunteer choir made up of several churches and community members of varying ages and backgrounds. Medford resident Stacie J. Clayton, Choral Director at the Somerville Community Baptist Church, is the director. Concert performers will include: - Highrock Covenant Preschool of Arlington Heights - Youth of Fellowship Church of God, Jamaica Plain
- Singer/performer Ron Murphy and pianist Mina Cho - Flutist Lance Martin
A live band and other instrumentalists will accompany the choir. Boston Herald columnist Joe Fitzgerald will be the master of ceremonies. This concert is made possible with the help of sponsors and the host church, Somerville Community Baptist Church. Donations will be accepted at the event.
